It’s that time of the year when more and more rumors about next year’s upcoming devices make the rounds online! In today’s news: a new 10.5″ iPad, expected, aimed at “education and enterprise”, as part of Apple’s tablet line-up for next year.
Not a tablet for the masses!
Apple is launching the 10.5-inch iPad mainly because 10-inch and larger tablets have been popular among enterprises and the education sector in the US, the sources said. Its existing 9.7-inch iPad may be too small and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro too expensive for such procurement, the sources indicated, some sources claim, cited by MacRumors.
It seems that the Cupertino-based manufacturer is planning to extend it’s iPad line up next year, introducing a new device, in the 10-inch range. Also, earlier this year, analysts were claiming that Apple is planning to release a 10.9″ tablet, alongside the already existing 9.7″ and 12.9″ devices, while last month, a Japanese website was pointing to a 10.1″ iPad Pro, scheduled for early 2017.
Nothing about a possible configuration, at least for the moment
Still, the latest rumors are confirming the theory released this summer by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, know for being very accurate when it comes to Apple devices. Mr. Kuo claimed that we will indeed see a 10.5″ tablet next year, powered by the A10X processor. As for other spec changes, the rumors are mentioning OLED displays, but this should be taken with a pinch of salt.
However, this won’t be the only tablet that could make its debut next year. Another 9.7″ model, designed to compete with Android tablets rocking a similar size is also expected.
We will be back with more details about the 10.5″ iPad, as soon as anything new comes up!
