Xiaomi managed to take the tech community by surprise with their Mi Mix and we can totally relate! That smartphone is a beautiful piece of technology. Also, it was just a matter of days until one of its competitors would release a similar concept, showcasing the best of what they can do. And thus, the Huawei Honor Magic was born!
Yes, Chinese manufacturer Huawei is planning to organize a special event in China, on December 16, where this special handset will be unveiled, as a proof that they can make a stunning device as well. However, it doesn’t seem to be your average smartphone…
Yeah, baby, modular design!
According to some rumors, the Huawei Honor Magic won’t come with a camera or a built-in speaker, allowing users to add what elements they prefer. Yes, we’re talking about a modular smartphone, resembling Google’s already-retired Project Ara, says GSM Arena. Still, the goodies list doesn’t end here!
Until today, there weren’t any images with the actual device – or at least a leaked shot with a concept of some kind – but we finally got the chance to see what we can expect. A picture with the front of the Huawei Honor Magic made the rounds online, revealing a bezel-less display. Also, we can see that it does have a fingerprint scanner hidden somewhere under the front panel, on the small bottom bezel, which is pretty much the smallest we’ve ever seen on a smartphone!
Stepping up the bezel game
This last aspect would but Huawei’s concept above Xiaomi Mi Mix. To be more specific, if this image presents the real deal, it should look better than Xiaomi’s phone, which has some pretty big top and bottom bezels, the latter also housing the front-facing camera.
For the moment, this is everything we know about this phone’s specs, but more and more details should be available over the next days.
