While almost all manufacturers announced their flagships for 2017, HTC was the only one left, but it won’t be long until the Taiwanese company will also introduce its top notch model, as they have recently announced, through a teaser image posted on Twitter!
The handset will go by the name of HTC U and it will be officially unveiled on May 16, during a special event, beginning at 2AM EST / 7AM CET, according to Android Headlines.
Ok, but what about some leaked images?
Surprisingly, we don’t know that much about this mysterious HTC U, since the manufacturer managed to keep the secret pretty good. For example, the teaser they revealed shows a blurred phone, so what we’re seeing is just the outline.
Besides this, HTC also includes the ‘Squeeze For The Brilliant’ tagline, which seems to be the slogan for the launch. And it could also be a very subtle hint at one of the phone’s main features, helping it to differentiate from other models…
To be more specific, we’re talking about two the Edge Sensors, placed near the bottom of the phone, allowing you to interact with the phone’s edges, in order to complete some tasks. Also, it seems that the HTC U will basically be a smaller version of the U Ultra, at least when it comes to the design.
835 and 4/6GB, an already classic combo
Spec-wise, we’re expecting a 5.5″ WQHD display, covered by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5, as well as a Snapdragon 835 under the hood, alongside 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB of internal storage.
The camera setup will be represented by a 12 MP / 16 MP duo, while a 3000mAh battery, with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology, will keep the lights on! Finally, we’re expecting Android 7.1 Nougat, with Sense 9 on top. And, hopefully, a BoomSound speaker setup will complete the spec sheet!
