Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it’s finally here! After a long wait, LG unveiled its flagship for 2017, the G6, during a special event, held at the Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona!
Even though all these weren’t a mystery, since a lot of leaks about the phone made the rounds online over the last week, LG still had a few surprises for us!
Therefore, the LG G6 comes with a 5.7″ IPS LCD display, which covers most of the phone’s front, reason why LG calls it FullVision. Of course, we should also mention the QHD+ resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels, which results in a 18:9 aspect ratio.
Glass all the way!
One really interesting aspect of the LG G6 is also the display, with its rounded corners, covered by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3, while on the back, we also have glass, but this time we’re talking about GG5.
The frame of the phone is entirely made of aluminum, with some plastic inserts, so the phone will be able to deal with some light drops or impacts! Oh, and it’s also IP68 certified, a first for an LG flagship, making the handset water and dust resistant.
Moving on to what’s under the hood, we’re looking at an optimized version of the Snapdragon 821, alongside 4GB of RAM and either 32 or 64 gigs of internal storage, expandable, thanks to the presence of a microSD card slot.
Still rocking the dual camera setup
As for the camera department, the G6 comes with a dual setup on the back, consisting in two 13 MP sensors, one with a 125 degrees one angle, and a secondary one, with a regular angle, of 71 degrees. Also, on the front, the phone has an 8 MP selfie unit.
The phone comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, customized with LG’s Full-screen UX and it’s also the first non-Pixel phone to come with Google Assistant pre-installed!
You will be able to buy an LG G6 starting with March 10.
