Android is emerged as the most successful operating system when we talk about smartphones. In a short span of time it literally revolutionizes the smartphone sector beating the premium smartphone brand Apple in terms of sales. The only issue with Android I feel is the fact that whenever a new Android update is released it took months or even years to reach out to every other device. And sometimes there are few devices that are simply left out without an update. But then there are few trustworthy brands like Motorola, who took care of their costumers and provide them timely updates just like Apple.
So proving its point and attentions again, in early October it announced the list of Motorola devices that are eligible to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Few devices were left out but today Motorola updated that list adding four more devices. The new devices which will get Android 6.0 Marshmallow official update too are –e announcement was made today by Motorola on their official Motorola Blog.
According to official Motorola blog, the Android v6.0 update will bring some new exciting features like Google Now on Tap, simpler volume controls, brand new Doze mode which will help in saving a lot of battery, Google’s new Android pay feature and direct share too.
Well, we were surprised when DROID Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2 were not listed among the devices that were scheduled to receive Android v6.0 update but the latest announcement has definitely brought a relief among the users of DROID Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2. Both of these devices features Shatter Shield tech and were launched in October, 2015. As far as MOTO E is concerned, it’s great to see that Motorola’s Entry level devices are also getting the Android 6.0 marshmallow update and this once again proves that how much Motorola cares about its customers. “Mote E gen won’t be getting any update in U.S and will remain on Lollipop 5.1”- cleared David Schuster on google plus. However, the Moto E will be getting update on regions like Canada, Latin America, Europe, and most of Asia excluding china.
Meanwhile, Motorola has started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update on Moto X Pure Edition (2015, 3rd gen) in US with the help of major carriers like Verizon, Sprint, AT & T and US Cellular. The Motorola’s officials also told us that Moto X style has already started getting update in Latin America, UK, India and will be getting update in brazil and other regions in a week or so.
